Guardianship (Female)
Here's what you need to know about the Escarpment Pomeranian Guardian Program. Our program allows our dogs to live full, happy lives in loving homes while Escarpment Pomeranians retains breeding rights and ownership until retired. This way, we know our breeding females are already secured in their forever home and can return to EP when needed to help produce beautiful Escarpment Pomeranian puppies for other families.
Guardianship Requirements
Live within 1-2 hours of Milton, ON Canada
This is just practical and best for all. Shorter travel time equals less stress for the Dam. Generally, the Guardian Family is responsible to drop off and pick up but we are very flexible at EP. Having a fenced yard with no intact males in the household is also crucial.
Provide Top Nutrition
Provide TLC pet food which is delivered to your door. Other nutrient boosting requirements, as directed by EP. One example is to provide raw chicken liver during certain weeks of gestation.https://tlcpetfood.com/nutrition/escarpmentpomeranians
Provide all routine care unrelated to Breeding
You will provide love, exercise, and care for one of our Dams. Routine care includes feeding TLC food, grooming, toys, vaccines, parasite prevention, and all veterinary care that is unrelated to breeding.

Is Guardianship right for you and your family? Basic info:
- The guardian program is basically everything a responsible pet owner would do, with the added responsibility of participating in health testing and breeding.
- If EP determines at any time and for any reason that the Dam's breeding career is over (even possibly before it has begun), EP will cover the cost of Spay and will transfer ownership to you
- What's in it for you? At this time, the cost of the puppy in a Guardianship program is HALF the normal adoption fee for that puppy at EP. You can also feel good knowing you have contributed to the number of happy, healthy pups going to families that will love them. Need to go on holiday at a time when the Dam is not needed at EP? We will save you the dogsitting fees and she can have a free vacation at EP, subject to negotiation.
- Keeping her safe: It’s important not to allow your dog around any other intact males. This will prevent unwanted breedings or disease. You must always keep your dog in a fenced yard or on a leash.
- Guardian families should do basic training with their dog which would include sit, down, stay, recall, leash walking and the handling exercise. We highly recommend McCann Dogs.https://www.youtube.com/@McCannDogs
They should be well-socialized and comfortable in everyday environments. They should be social with new people and groomed regularly.
